The Zuckerman Family

The Zuckerman family has been tilling the land of the San Joaquin and Sacramento Delta since the early 1900’s. The original Zuckerman brothers – Roscoe, Herbert, and Maurice – grew a myriad of crops, including potatoes, asparagus, onions, sugar beets, and celery. Today the third and fourth generations of the Zuckerman Family continue to farm many of the crops originally grown by their pioneering forefathers.

Widely known for their innovations in farming, the Zuckerman family brought not only new crops to the Delta, including wine grapes and turfgrass sod, but also developed specialized equipment to meet the special challenges of Delta farming.

The Zuckerman family has endured throughout the generations, proud of the fresh market produce it has been bringing to market for over 100 years, and the outstanding contributions it has made to its community.
